Fly-Out Fishing Kustatan River Alaska

The Kustatan River is located on the West Forelands practically directly across Cook Inlet from North Kenai. It is a relatively shallow, glacial river mostly known for its huge run of silver salmon. Access to the river is by float plane via several sloughs and small ponds in the immediate area.  Fishing in Kustatan River is mostly done with cured salmon eggs due to the extremely turbid water and the lack of visibility. Flies and spinners are used in adjoining freshwater sloughs but the majority of the fly-out fishing in Kustatan River Alaska is done in the main stem of the river. Your guide will provide boat transportation to several key holes and most of the fishing is done from the shore or from sandbars. This is widely considered to be one of the most productive silver salmon rivers on the entire west side of Cook Inlet.
